The restyled C4 of the 90's is my favorite Corvette. It may not be the fastest, or the best handling, but I still think it's the best example of what a Corvette should be. It isn't over-styled (C7). It doesn't have the interior of a Cobalt (C6). Nor does it have the look of a kit car (C5). It just has that certain "something" that the newer generations just don't have. That, and pop-up headlights.

The C4 is awesome. I've always loved the Grand Sport with a passion

I love the digital speedo on the inside, the design is understated but perfect

Funny, i thought the C5 looked so much better when it came out. Now i kind of like the C4 more. But I think that's just how car styling goes. We like it, then as we get bored of it time passes and we like it less and less. Until one day you see one and say "Oh yeah! i remember those! forgot how good looking they were..."

I rather admire the C4s. Some pretty sophisticated tech went into their chassis. Well worth reading into.

While the cars are mild by today's standards...there ate 2 C4s I would unload my C6 for in a heartbeat. And you've sort of posted both of them here. The first being a 96 GS with red guts, and the second being a 40th anniversary ZR-1. I didn't know such a thing existed until Bloomington Gold this year when I saw two of them.

When I was searching for a Corvette two years ago, I wanted the fastest I could get. I could have a C5 Z06 or a C6 if I had wanted. But then I saw an Admiral Blue '94 on a Chevrolet dealer's website; it was love at first sight. It looked a lot like this one, only grey inside:

What was it? It was the blue, it was the squircle tail lights, it was the immediate rush of "this is so incredibly 90s." I ended up getting a black '96 with the LT4, and I've since fallen more in love with the C4, specifically the earlier ones. To me, nothing beats a white example with a red interior, complemented by the tail lights outside and with that black belt-line unifying the three main colours of the car. If I could have do-overs, I would search for one of those, preferably an '87-'89, in manual. The 4+3 was awesome, haters be damned.

And now, here's some more gratuitous late-model C4 porn, courtesy of my car and my cell-phone this past summer (that's my friend next to the car in pic No. 2):

I apologize for the lack of interior shots. Most of them have an obnoxious flare and are washed out.
